Box Score
The SCAD Men's Soccer Team ends the 2013 regular season with a double-overtime loss to the Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies 0-1. The loss brings SCAD's regular season record to 8-6.
Â
The statistics were considerably in favor of the 13-4 Gwinnett team. They outshot the Bees 12-4 and had a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Bees could not mount any offensive threat as they took 3 of their four shots in the 1st period, but were only allowed 1 shot (one on goal) in the 2nd period. No shots by SCAD were allowed by the Grizzlies in either overtime.Â
Ali Bassir had three saves, while
Josh Brown had two.Â
Â
The SCAD defense once again made the game a very close one, but a minute and fifteen seconds into the 2nd overtime the Grizzlies managed to place a winning score past Brown.
Â
It was a tough loss for the Bees, who will now shift gears and begin preparation for the beginning of The Sun Conference Tournament. Being a #4 seed in the tournament SCAD will host the first round match against #5 seed Northwood University.  The game takes place on November 9 at 7 pm.  Let's go Bees!
