The NAIA number 1 ranked SCAD Bees and The Sun Conference's number 1 seed held on to win The Sun Conference Tournament Championship by three strokes over runner-up Embry-Riddle.  The Lady Bees had led by nine strokes coming into the final round, but the Eagles improved by 12 strokes to make it a very close victory for the Bees.
 
Alazne Urizar shot two rounds of 75 to win the individual tournament title.  This is the second year that Urizar has won the TSC individual title.  Because of her match play in the tournament and her consistent play during the season The Sun Conference awarded Urizar with the TSC Women's Golf “Player of the Year” award.  Congratulations to Alazne Urizar for this honor.
 
Of the 36 total golfers in the field SCAD's Sofia Molinaro finished 3^rd in the tournament's individual standings.  Andrea Perez finished in a tie for 8^th so SCAD had three golfers in the top ten.  Way to go Bees!
 
Coach Amanda Workman was recognized by The Sun Conference as the 2013 Women's Golf “Coach of the Year.”  Congratulations Coach Workman on a great season. 

SCAD now begins to think about the NAIA National Championships to be held in Lincoln, Nebraska at the Wilderness Golf Club on May 21-24.  Just last year the ladies came within three strokes of bringing home the national title.  Hopefully, this will be the year.
 
The Sun Conference recognized the achievements of many of the SCAD golf team members in an award ceremony following the tournament.  Joining Urizar and Molinaro on the All-Conference team is Alexa Osbourn.  The conference also announced the Academic All-Conference recognitions and SCAD's honorees for this achievement were Alazne Urizar and Elva Jiang.
 
Congratulations to Coach Workman and the whole SCAD Golf Team for a great 2012-13 season.  Now on to Lincoln!!!
