GREENWOOD, Indiana- SCAD Women's Swimming & Diving's Nikki Hahn has been named the College Sports Communicators (CSC) NAIA Overall Academic All-American of the Year.  

"I am so honored to have been selected as overall academic All American, and grateful to be able to represent artist-athletes as a recipient of this award," said Hahn. "Balancing both athletics and academics as priorities is difficult, especially while pursuing a design degree, but the hard work has paid off in more ways than one. I am thankful for everyone who supported me through the challenges of this season and helped me succeed. Thank you to my amazing friends, incredibly supportive parents, and all my coaches for their guidance and encouragement this year and all four of my years at SCAD."

Boasting a 4.0 GPA as a User Experience Design major, Hahn is now a two-time CSC Academic All-American First Team selection and CSC Academic Team Member of the Year honoree.  Her academic rigor is matched only by her athletic prowess; this season, she swept the Sun Conference honors in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, as well as the 200m medley relay.

Hahn reached the pinnacle of the sport at the national level, claiming national titles in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke. She further cemented her legacy by earning All-American honors in the 200 IM and two relay events (200m medley and 400m).

"Nikki has been a pleasure to have on the team," said head coach Rob Zamorano. "She does truly deserve this award and in the few years I have known her she has lead by example every day not only in the pool but in the classroom. We are incredibly proud of her for receiving this award and can't wait to see what her future holds."

Hahn is the first athlete in SCAD history to receive this honor. She notched her third CSC honor of the year and out of over 83,000 athletes across the NAIA she was selected for this award.
