HARDEEVILLE, S.C.- No. 24 SCAD Women's Soccer (6-2-1, 1-0 SUN) dominates Webber International University (3-5, 0-1 SUN) 4-0 in opening Sun Conference game, Saturday afternoon.
Lovisa Henell scored the lone half goal on an assist from
Cali Wuestefeld in the 16th minute of play. Hennell received the ball from Wuestefeld just inside the 18-yard box. Hennell muscled her way around a defender then drove the ball into the back netting for the 1-0 lead.
Saga Biorklund iced the second goal of the game in the 50th minute of the game. Biorklund corralled the ball off of the defender which set her up for a 40-yard screamer that just made its way over the keeper's head. The Bees led 2-0.
Hennell nabbed her second goal of the game in the 84th minute of the game on the assist from
Amelie Waine. Henell was played the ball on the left flank of the 18-yard box from Waine in the midfield. Hennell finessed her way around a defender and found the upper 90 on the right side of the goal increasing the SCAD lead to 3-0.
Haidyn Jenkins capped the scoring in the 86th minute of play. The Warriors were given a red card after a foul on
Vera Wikstroem giving SCAD a free kick. Jenkins took the free kick roughly 25 yards out and scored the fourth goal of the game.
The Bees' defense was stellar only allowing eight shots only two of which were on target.
Saga Bryntesson got the start in goal earning two saves for her fifth clean sheet of the season. SCAD totaled 24 shots on the contest 13 of which were on goal. The Bees also led the corner kick ratio 6:0.
The Bees are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 3 when they host Warner University at 1:00 p.m.
