Bees Blank Golden Bears 2-0 Including Jenkins and Henell Goals

HARDEEVILLE, S.C.- No. 25 SCAD Women's Soccer (3-1-1) powers by West Virginia University Institute of Technology (2-2) 2-0, Friday evening.

Haidyn Jenkins opened the scoring for the Bees in the 19th minute of play. Irma Olsen played a perfectly placed ball in the box for Jenkins to get a head on it for the first goal of the game. Right before the half, SCAD netted goal number two of the game on a goal from Lovisa Henell in the 40th minute off a close window pass from Chloe Campbell.

Saga Bryntesson notched her second shutout of the season in goal. She faced a lone shot on goal and nabbed the save. The Bees defense was stellar only allowing four shots through 90 minutes of play.

SCAD dominated the match offensively, out shooting WVU Tech 17-4 overall and holding a 7-1 advantage in shots on target, along with a 6-3 edge in corner kick opportunities. WVU Tech goalkeeper Irene Saldaña recorded five saves on seven shots on goal in the loss.

The Bees continue the Coca-Cola Classic on Sunday, Sept. 6 to take on Reinhardt University at 1:30 p.m.
