Tanner Popovich is now entering his fourth year as Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach at SCAD. During his third year with the program, Tanner had tremendous success coaching the AAC Offensive Player of the Year and three offensive All-Americans earning him the Rod Echols Assistant Coach of the Year honor.
Before SCAD, Tanner served as Assistant Coach at the University of the Cumberlands, where he played a key role in designing and implementing practices, game-day strategies, strength and conditioning programs aimed at improving performance and reducing injuries. During the 2024 season, he helped guide the team to a program-record shooting percentage, and seven offensive players achieved career highs in goals, assists, and points, with three earning All-Conference honors.
Tanner earned both his B.S. in Exercise Science (2022) and MBA (2024) from the University of the Cumberlands.
