Holy Innocents' Episcopal School Athletics

Darrell Naylor-Johnson’s professional experience in higher education spans more than three decades and includes teaching in the fine arts and humanities and providing strategic leadership across numerous university administrative areas.

Naylor-Johnson earned a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and an MFA from the Pennsylvania State University. He joined SCAD in 1992 as a professor of foundation studies. In 2000, after several years of leading community art and mural collaborations throughout Savannah and in Atlanta, Naylor-Johnson was appointed Dean of the School of Fine Arts. Since then, he has impacted the SCAD community as a leader in numerous roles including Academic Programs Manager, Senior Director of Library Services, Assistant Vice President for Academic Services, Vice President for SCAD eLearning (SCAD Now), Interim Associate Vice President for SCAD Atlanta, and Vice President for SCAD Savannah.

Naylor-Johnson is the NAIA Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) for Savannah. He currently serves as Vice President for Community Engagement, with a focus on advancing strategic partnerships that connect SCAD’s globally recognized creative disciplines with local and regional communities—supporting experiential learning, strengthening business, community and government relationships, and increasing awareness of the university’s role as an economic force, innovation hub and creative catalyst.
