Lucas Rodrigues is SCAD’s inaugural Taekwondo coach, leading the new Olympic Sports Taekwondo program launched in Summer 2026.
A high-performance coach with 20+ years’ experience, Lucas built and directed G3 America Taekwondo (founded 2012), a national center for youth development that produced state, national, and international champions.
His program’s consistent success earned him a role on the USA National Team coaching staff in 2023.
Since joining USA Taekwondo, Lucas has coached across age groups — cadets (12–14), juniors (15–17), and currently the U21 and senior squads — and has coached athletes at events around the world. He began his own competitive Taekwondo career in 1994 representing Brazil, winning multiple national and international medals.
After relocating to Florida in 1998, he turned to coaching professionally in 2004 and has since led teams and camps in 32 countries, with extensive experience training and competing throughout Europe.
Lucas holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Brazil). He and his wife, Caroline (married 2006), are parents to three sons: Victor, Benjamin, and Nolan.
