The SCAD Softball team started the 2012 season in fine fashion by taking both games of the double-header against the Thomas University Night Hawks. 

In the first game Sam White and Kiara Boccia combined to pitch a 3-hit, 1-run game with White getting the win.  SCAD's pitchers were dominant as they only allowed 2 Night Hawks to get as far as third base.

While White and Boccia supplied the pitching, Olivia Kline and, once again, Boccia supplied the offense.  They combined to knock in all 6 of SCAD's runs with Kline getting 4 and Boccia adding 2 more with her 6th inning homerun - her first of the season.

The second game was unlike the first in that it was a pitchers duel all the way.  The score was knotted at 0-0 until the bottom of the 6th when the Bees pushed across the lone run of the game.  Nirana Singh opened the 6th with a leadoff double and scored on Jessaca Spears single up the middle.

That was all that Sydnee Schorr and Olivia Kline needed.  Schorr pitched an almost perfect 5 innings, striking out nine Night Hawks and allowing only 1 hit in the fifth inning.to keep the score at 0-0.  Olivia Kline took over in the 6th and had two perfect innings of relief to earn her first win of the season.

The Lady Bees are back in action on 2/24 when they take on Brewton-Parker College in a double-header in Mount Vernon, Ga.
