SAVANNAH. Ga. - SCAD eSports, Overwatch, returned to competition this weekend for the first time for the 2020-2021 competitive season with two overpowering performances.
The SCAD Overwatch team was able to start off strong, with dominant victories over the University of Delaware and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. These victories were critical in changing SCAD Overwatch national ranking from unranked to 39th in the tournament, with room to grow!
"I am so proud of how the team was able to come back from such a long layoff and compete at such a high level. We have a great mix of talented newcomers and veteran upperclassman, that I honestly believe the sky is the limit. We are aiming for that championship trophy, and we got off to a great start in our quest to do so." Said director of eSports, Ian Escalante.
Newcomer's Matthew Kilmartin (alone) and Jude Dahdouh (Valentine) set up a dominant and aggressive frontline attack, supported by newcomer Javier Sauce Diaz (Cabimas) and returning SCAD eSports upperclassmen Avery Oliver, Jae Teska, and Wilson Mcguirt.

Competing in the Overwatch Collegiate Championship tournament, the SCAD Overwatch team is set to face a 5 week, 10 game, regular season. This open swiss style tournament will contain over 1000 teams across all divisions and regions of collegiate esports, NCAA and NAIA alike.
