Men’s Soccer Falls 3-2 to No. RV Faulkner University

MOBILE, Ala. — The SCAD Savannah men's soccer team suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to No. RV Faulkner University on Thursday in Mobile, Ala.

RECORDS: The Bees drop to 0-3-0 on the season, while the Eagles improve to 2-0-0.

Faulkner opened the scoring in the 20th minute to take a 1-0 advantage into the halftime break.

The second half brought a rapid flurry of offense from both sides. The Eagles doubled their lead in the 54th minute, but SCAD responded just 34 seconds later when Sebastian Gomez scored unassisted in the 55th minute to pull the Bees within one (2-1).

SCAD leveled the match in the 63rd minute as Kimi Husler capitalized on an assist from Moritz Zettl to make it 2-2. However, Faulkner struck back in the 68th minute to reclaim the lead and held off late pressure from the Bees to secure the victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Kimi Husler and Sebastian Gomez each recorded a goal to pace the attack. Moritz Zettl registered a team-high four shots, placing one on target, while providing the assist on SCAD's second score.

Simeon Dishman placed his single shot on goal, while Tim Rothe, Lejs Plicanic, and Gavin Barrett tallied one shot apiece.

Goalkeeper Max Keller played the full 90 minutes in net, making eight saves against 21 total shots faced.
