Men’s Soccer Battles No. 24 Union Commonwealth on the Road

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — The SCAD Savannah men's soccer team battled on the road Saturday night, falling 2-1 to No. 24 Union Commonwealth.
 
RECORDS: The Bees drop to 0-5-0 on the season, while the Bulldogs move to 3-0-0.
 
Union Commonwealth opened the scoring in the 27th minute to take an early 1-0 advantage before extending its lead to 2-0 in the 35th minute, sending SCAD into the halftime break down by two.
 
The Bees came out aggressive in the second half and answered quickly. In the 48th minute, Kimi Husler tried for a goal but the ball was saved. However, Moritz Prattes fired Husler's rebounded ball into the bottom right of the net to pick up his first goal of the season to trim the deficit to 2-1.
 
SCAD continued to press for an equalizer down the stretch, drawing corner kicks and generating late chances, but Union Commonwealth held on to secure the victory.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Moritz Prattes scored the lone goal for the Bees on his only shot of the contest.
 
Kimi Husler and Daire Russell each logged a shot on goal, while Nicolas Lozano, Lejs Plicanic, Gavin Barrett, and Sebastian Gomez added one shot apiece.
 
Goalkeeper Max Keller played all 90 minutes between the posts, collecting four saves.
