Box Score
After five matches where the SCAD Men's Soccer team has gone 2-3 in conference action scoring an anemic total of three goals, the Bees exploded in the second half of action against a Johnson & Wales team that brought a 9-5 overall record to the SCAD Sports Complex.
Â
It looked as if the shortage of scoring would continue as the Wildcats held a 1-0 lead at the halfway point in the match. But
Tom Melville's team came back with a flurry in the last 45 minutes of play. The defensive team turned into a very good offensive team by scoring 6 goals in a 31 minute period of action. Leading the way for the Bees was
Will Oswin who scored his 4th and 5th goals of the season in a 2-minute time period. Assisting Oswin on his first goal of the game was
Jordan Trinci-Lyne, who had earlier scored a goal of his own (his team leading 9th of the season).
Â
Joining the scoring parade was Jose Izurieta (assisted by
Alex Jamroz),
Sergi Sauras (assisted by
Theo Angus), and
Naim El-Harrati. The six goals by SCAD were the most they had scored all season.Â
Â
Defensively, the Bees maintained their intense harassment as they have allowed no more than 4 goals in 13 of their 15 matches this season (including two exhibition contests). Starting his second match at goalkeeping was
Ali Bassir, who helped the Bees by allowing 1 lone goal in his two complete matches.
Â
Next up for the Bees will be #16 ranked Embry-Riddle who will kick off against the Bees at the SCAD Sports Complex at 7 pm on Senior Night October 23. This will be the last regular season home match of the season. Come out and support your men as they pursue a high seed in The Sun Conference Tournament. Go Bees!!
