Box Score 2 In a weekend of action in Florida, SCAD men's soccer followed a resounding victory with a close loss, returning home from their road trip with their Sun Conference record at 5-2.
On October 22, the Bees defeated Ave Maria 3-0. Despite dominating possession for the first thirty minutes, SCAD needed an individual effort by Alejandro Rodriguez in the 32nd click to net the go-ahead. Rodriguez exploded up the middle, breached the Gyrenes' back line and chipped the Keeper from 20 yards. Two minutes later the Bees put together a series of effective passes culminating in Ewald Bugase providing the final pass to Gonzalo Gelso who drove the ball home making it 2-0 for the half. The Bees sealed the shutout in the 75th minute with Naim El- Harrati clipped in a corner for Kaleem Haitham to thump into the Gyrenes goal. Fernando Zeledon gained the shutout, having to make only two saves.

SCAD then traveled to Lakeland, Florida for their October 24 match-up against Southeastern University. SCAD fell behind early, and Southeastern took a 1-0 lead into half-time. Another goal by the Heat in the 51st minute extended their lead, until SCAD Kaleem Haitham pounced on a loose ball in the box for an unassisted tally in the 80th minute. Despite a valiant press in the closing moments, SCAD could not equalize, and Southeastern prevailing 2-1 at the final whistle. Men's soccer next plays at home on October 27th at 7:30 p.m. versus Keiser. Come on out and support the Bees on "Senior Night"!
