After a tremendous rookie season, the accolades continue to come in for SCAD freshman Lauran Eschenroeder. After being named The Sun Conference Newcomer of the Year and All-Conference, she picked up AVCA NAIA All-Southeast Region honors.

Also collecting an all-region selection was senior Olympia Haney. She picked up an honorable mention award to go along with an all-region selection from her sophomore year.

Not only was the middle blocker Eschenroeder one of the best players in the region, but also the country, as she was one of five freshmen in the nation to earn All-Region honors. Eschenroeder was one of three conference players on the list, joining Abby Hall and Adriana Vasquez from Embry-Riddle.

The Tarpon Springs, Fla. native made her mark by being one of the most accurate attackers in the country. Currently she leads the conference and rates ninth in the country with a .377 hitting percentage. That rate is the fourth-highest in school history and the best since Ally Schramer hit .415 in 2005.

In addition to topping the league in hitting percentage, she was also among the leaders in kills and blocks. She was fourth in blocks per set (1.0) and fifth total blocks (91) while also ranking sixth in kills per set (2.8) and ninth for total kills (265).

Playing a hybrid role of outside hitter and middle blocker help Haney had her best year in terms of hitting percentage and blocking. Her .311 hitting percentage was the second best in TSC and the highest of her career.

Her 1.08 blocks per set was first in the conference and 36th nationally. Haney's block rate was the best by a SCAD players since Chayla Grosser (1.17) and Courtney Shelton (1.33) in 2007. Her 104 total blocks is also a career-high. In addition, the Fayetteville, Ga. native was 10th in kills per set (2.7) and total kills (254).
